The company was founded in 2008 by a Third generation Smithfield man, who trained and qualified as a butcher in his early years working with a wide spectrum of meats who naturally entered into the wholesale markets.

He then progressed from a junior meat salesman, to opening a new department of boxed products in a well-established Smithfield business, to sales director within the company.

Once a good selection of suppliers and clients had been achieved, moving away from Smithfield and working closer with larger factories was the only logical choice.

Sherwood Foods continued to build on the relationships, working closely with the production & packing teams to allow us to better suit our client needs. We are constantly looking to develop new and exciting products to offer our clients for the future.

The process for new products or clients involves meetings to determine their needs followed by testing and selection to produce suitable quality samples before moving into full production.

All product lines are constantly monitored and checked for quality and availability, to ensure that our clients receive continuity and consistency of supply.
