What countries do we deliver our online meat orders to?

We deliver to England, Scotland & Wales, we also deliver to the Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Scottish Highlands & the Scottish Islands. We are unable to deliver as before to Europe & Northern Ireland because of the rules imposed by the EU. We do deliver our wholesale meat orders across the EU & internationally.

How do we ship your home delivered meat orders?

All our meat cuts are placed into insulated boxes with extra Slow Thaw Gel Packs (minimum 3 kilos) added to keep your meat extra cold. Please remember to recycle your packaging responsibly ♻  Please see packing information for full details.

Who delivers your online meat orders?

We use our approved couriers FedEx, DHL, & UPS for a next day service, this is a doorstep service; meaning that the parcels will be left at the door or in a specific place when instructions are provided. (N.B. most delivery drivers will use their discretion to find a secure place to leave parcels.)  

How will you know when your meat order has arrived?

Once your parcel has been delivered you will receive an email confirmation or a text to the mobile number provided by you. As this is a door step service, the courier driver will register on their hand-held devices once delivered, when signed for or if no answer, this will automatically alert their system to send to the customer.

How long does it take to deliver your meat order?

We provide a next day service via the courier network to most postcodes nationwide. There are exceptions (please see postcode checker below) where it is a 2-4 day service for remote locations or off shore. Due to increased demand placed upon couriers because of Covid 19 & seasonal online buying, some deliveries are experiencing short delays.

What happens to my order if the courier is delayed?

Sometimes there are delays caused by a misrouting of a parcel, vehicle breakdown, accident involving the delivery van, weather conditions (snow, flood), & we are informed by the courier service of the reason & expected delay. In 99% of instances, we will have your order upgraded to a next morning delivery where possible. 

Will my meat order be okay in the insulated box?

The box & insulation we provide for the meat to be delivered in is designed to keep meat cold for up to 3 days all year round in most normal temperatures. We pack extra insulation inside during the summer months to help keep your orders very cold.

What days do we deliver your meat orders on?

We deliver Tuesday to Friday for most UK mainland post codes. N.B., we do not deliver on bank holidays or national holidays like Christmas day, Boxing Day, Good Friday etc 

Can I select a date for my meat order to be delivered on?

You can select a date for preferred delivery, you need to select from the calendar provided on the checkout page. You are able to choose up to 60 days in advance.

Where do we ship your online meat orders from?

We have our distribution depot in West Sussex as this is centrally located in the South East of England to make home & wholesale deliveries easier. We can ship faster from the bigger courier hubs to ensure a more efficient service with a higher success rate.

What are the latest times to order for a next day home meat delivery?

The cut off time to order for next day delivery into the UK mainland (weekday deliveries) is 2pm
The cut off time to order for delivery into Channel Islands & Isle of Man is 12pm Midday 

What time will my meat order arrive at?

The courier network delivers between 8am & up to 8.30pm when very busy. Most orders will be delivered before 6pm

What is the minimum order value to get an online meat delivery?

To be able to get a home meat delivery from Sherwood Foods we have had to set a minimum order value because of shipping & packaging costs. The delivery charges for minimum order value are as follows;

£49.50 min spend UK next day £6.95 delivery charge
£29.50 min spend UK next day £9.95 delivery charge

N.B. All orders will be delivered to the address provided and not returned to the depot for another day if no-one is there to receive the parcel. This is because there are no frozen storage facilities at the courier depots, it is then responsibility of the client once delivered.

Please note that not all postcodes are available for next day delivery, please check the list below for those that are a Three / Five-day delivery.

Returns & Refunds for SHERWOOD FOODS Ltd

Any orders placed with Sherwood Foods will be processed & shipped on the next available working day for delivery (except Friday unless for Saturday delivery).

If a customer wishes to cancel an order, they need to call to customers services helpline (8am-6pm Mon-Sat) before the next day cut off time (2pm UK, 12pm Ireland/Europe), if the order has already been shipped out for delivery, we are unable to cancel. We can only switch delivery days provided that the order has not been shipped & it falls within the terms of your agreed postage costs.
As all our goods are perishable, we are unable to accept returns for health & hygiene reasons (no goods that are unfit for human consumption are allowed to the premises).

Goods that have been damaged in transit must have photographic evidence to show this as we will need this for claims from the courier companies. A call to customer services to inform us immediately of the issue is needed, we cannot process claims that are made 24 hours or more after the delivery. We will refund the full cost of the goods & delivery charges once satisfied that this is not the fault of the customer.

Refunds are normally completed within 14 days of the agreement to refund the customer; the average wait is 7 days. The funds are returned back to the same method of the original payment made by the customer.
