Rump Steak:
The texture of our Rump Steak is a coarser than the Sirloin & similar to the texture of the Topside, Top Rump & silverside. The steak has great flavour because of the texture & delivers a great experience. You can always gently tap the meat with a rolling pin, cleaver or a small garlic hammer to break down & soften the meat before cooking. The steaks are best cooked to medium to well done as they will be moist & the meat will soften a little to be easier cut. The colour of the meat is a rich deep Red to show the quality of the young beef we use in production.
The Sherwood Rump Steak is packed as a single piece per tray within minutes of cutting to ensure that they are in perfect condition when delivered to your door. The low temperatures that we prepare our meats in helps to retain the moisture within the steak because you want them moist when cooking. The lower the temperature, the longer the shelf life as it restricts the growth of any natural bacteria found in the meat.

The 400-gram Rump Steak is excellent value for money because there is only the slender piece of fat around the top of the steak for added flavour & moisture & you are not trimming off any waste, throwing away something you have paid for. This steak can be shared, making this an affordable steak night dinner for two people.
The natural vitamins, minerals & protein found in good quality red meat are essential to a healthy balanced diet, so the Rump Steak is ideal for this as a coarser cut. The slender fat on the outside can be removed after cooking to give you a leaner steak if you are on a high protein diet. A good steak doesn’t need to be expensive & when you can have something tasty that’s good for you, then it’s a real bonus.

The trays we use for our steaks are recyclable & easy for storing at home. The improvements over the years in technology for recycling has reduced our carbon foot print & with our customers recycling responsibly at home is helping for a Greener Future. The trays are designed to keep the shape of the steak & protect it when in transit to your door. They stop any other food flavours from tainting the steak when in your fridge, also they are perfect for bringing up to room temperature in by preventing the meat from drying out.
Sherwood Irish Grass-Fed beef is an excellent source of vitamins, minerals & protein that helps promote energy levels. Our Irish Grass-Fed beef enjoys some of the best green pastures that Ireland has to offer, with the higher than average rainfall there is never a shortage of lush grass for them to enjoy. The welfare of all the cattle is very important not only to the livestock but to the results it brings to the table.
All our beef is fully traceable through modern technology with animals now having virtual passports to ensure they are monitored from farm to fork.

Sherwood Rump Steak is great to create the steak dishes you want, without breaking the bank! So, whether you want to add some Hoisin sauce to the steak for a little Asian feel, or a simple steak dinner with fresh vegetables & fries, this piece is filling & tasty. They are very easy to cook in a pan, under the grill, in the oven wrapped at a lower temperature or on the BBQ for the full smokey flavour, please remember to rest your meat covered up for 10 minutes after it’s cooked.
