Boneless Chicken Thighs
Sherwood Boneless Chicken Thighs are cut from only our select quality chicken that has no added water for a more natural flavour. Our expert butchers produce these in an “oyster cut way” from the leg, harvesting as much soft thigh meat as possible before removing the single thigh bone. We cut our bone in chicken thighs in exactly the same way. The skin has been left on the boneless chicken thighs so it protects the meat from drying out.

The thighs are ready to cook & require no further trimming at home, this saves you time & money because you are not paying for fat n’ gristle that you have to throw away. Buying the 7/8 pack boneless chicken thighs at approximately 1.1 kilos, is very good value because of the high meat content that only has its own natural moisture. This means you are not paying for extra water in the meat!
The colour of the meat is a light pinkish beige showing the quality of the chicken & because there is no bruising (like some lesser quality chicken), it indicates the manner in which the birds were commercially reared with welfare in mind. All good quality chicken should have a consistent texture that will break apart easily when cooked, because this means you will have a better chew that is easily digested.
The boneless chicken thighs are an average of 120 grams each to give a generous serving for a child or 2 thighs for an adult. They do not shrink much when cooked as no water has been added when processing our chicken, making it easier to gauge weights for your favourite chicken recipes. Cooking boneless chicken thighs in the oven wrapped in a casserole dish is one of the easiest ways to keep them moist.
As our chicken has no added water it makes it an even better source of vitamins, minerals & protein, this is very important for a balanced diet. Many slimming recipes or healthy eating plans will have chicken in them, & can be quite bland. The flavour of the thighs is a little richer than the breasts because they are a more used muscle, that makes for better tasting meals.
We produce all our chicken in clean, temperature controlled cutting rooms where very high standards of hygiene are maintained. We cut & pack our chicken in a few minutes to make a fresher, moister piece that gives perfect results at home every time. The advantage of our processing methods & standards is that the chicken will be more consistent in retaining its flavour when packed.
We then blast freeze (-18°c)very quickly in the vacuum packs to preserve all the goodness of the meat so you get them as fresh as the day they were made!
We pack these so you can keep them frozen without the risk of spoiling the meat, & when you are bringing the meat up to room temperature, to prevent them from drying out. You can store these in the vacuum sealed packs as they will be as fully protected from any other foods tainting the flavour of the meat.
We have packed the boneless chicken thighs into a multi pack to make them better value & to cut down on the use of plastic to lower our carbon foot print. We are always looking for other affordable solutions to the current clear recyclable plastic pouches we use, but will not compromise the safety or quality of the meat cuts inside. The pouches we use now are stronger & thinner, that contain more portions to help reduce emissions now, this is further helped by our customers recycling responsibly.
The local chicken farms that supply our production meet the highest European standards to ensure that quality & safety are a top priority for our products. All the chickens are monitored 24 hours per day & given a consistent diet to help them grow into large healthy birds. The process from farm to finished product is a very humane & efficient under the strictest of conditions.
The size selection of the birds before production assures that your individual portions are all of similar size when serving in your kitchen. Temperature control along with chilled filtered air in production extends the shelf life & makes the chicken much fresher when packed. The taste & flavour of our chicken is natural & delicious for perfect results.
All our chicken is fully traceable through modern technology with animals now having virtual passports to ensure they are monitored from farm to fork. All our production facilities are BRC Approved & we are always using local farms.
