Sherwood White Pudding is a thick white pork-based sausage that is perfect for adding delicious thick slices to a hearty breakfast. Made from our finest select pork cuts with added ingredients like fresh white bread, finely chopped Parsley & Onion, all blended together with locally farmed milk. 2 delicious thick White Pudding Sausages at 150-grams each, perfect for cutting into thick slices ideal for the pan… wait till you smell the gorgeous aromas!

White Pudding :

Our White Pudding is 150-grams per piece with a delicious pork flavour with the added flavours of the fresh Onion & Parsley coming through. The White & Black Pudding is a traditional item that was created to help use up offal within the local farming communities. This was originally a wheat-based meal that was cheap to make & was popular amongst the poorer community.

This great flavoured White Pudding is the other preferred sausage-like pork product to Black Pudding, the smooth texture is because of the way that we ensure we use only the best pork cuts that are properly trimmed before being minced. Once minced the other ingredients are then blended into the fresh Pork Mince before running all the mixture through for a final time.

The White Pudding is then filled into a natural casing making large long-familiar rings, we then cut into sections of 150-grams & pack 2 into a vacuum-sealed clear recyclable pouch.

Having a balanced diet is very important & quality pork is a great source of vitamins, minerals & protein. Using the lean pork shoulder is best because it has the richest source of all these. White Pudding may not be the healthiest of products, but you can be sure that the best lean pork goes into it.

The clean filtered, chilled air in production limits any exposure to natural bacteria in the air, the low temperatures help prevent the meat from losing any of its natural juices. The clear recyclable pouches keep all the natural flavours in the meat, it also protects the White Pudding when stored at -18°C, during delivery to your home & so it can be stored safely in your fridge or freezer.

All our production facilities are BRC Approved & we are always supporting farmers locally building long term sustainable supplies from local herds.

Our choice of pork is something we have carefully considered, as we find this makes exactly what our customers need for specification, flavour & taste.

There are many breeds of pigs in the world, each with different characteristics, some large fatty ones, to small very lean types. Our choice of pig is the Pietrain Pig because it is a low cholesterol breed that has fantastic meat to fat ratio that has excellent flavour with guaranteed results in the kitchen.

Having access to a large volume of a good grade, perfect sized pork sides to choose from on a daily basis enables us to create the consistent “Restaurant Quality” pork cuts that people have come to expect from the Sherwood brand. We have daily delivery of pigs to the production facilities from long-standing local countryside farms in Belgium & Northern France.

Our select breed of pigs gets the name Pietrain from the small village of “Pietrain” in the Wallonia region of Belgium where they mainly originated from.

White Pudding is popular in Ireland, Iceland, Scotland, North of the UK, to name a few places & is often served as part of a fried breakfast. The White Pudding doesn’t have Pigs Blood in it like the Black Pudding & is a tasty alternative to this for those that like the slices of Pudding with their breakfast.

The best way to cook the White Pudding is to cut into 2 cm thick slices before placing in a frying pan with a little oil too prevent sticking or grill these slices evenly on both sides. The cooking times for White Pudding slices are approximately 2-4 minutes each side. The easy to slice texture is just like a pork sausage & has the same bite to it where you can taste the different ingredients for a real tasty addition to any fry.

We have seen people cooking these on the BBQ as part of their cook outside meals & the meat loves the smokey aromas & gives this a slightly different appeal.
