Terms & conditions for Sherwood Foods Ltd Home Delivery.

Thank you for placing an online meat delivery order with Sherwood Foods (United Kingdom).

Your order will be packed into a sealed double skinned box with an insulated liner & frozen Gel packaging at -18°c to keep your meats in excellent condition during transit.

We have instructed the couriers that under no circumstances are any Sherwood deliveries to be returned to the depot. We would advise that someone be made available to receive the order on the delivery day requested. The goods inside are perishable & will be left in the safest place possible, or as per instructions (if accessible) on the order form if no-one is there to receive it at the address provided, & will be signed for by the driver as such.


We offer a next day service to many postcodes across the UK but, we are not able to guarantee this service.

The delivery times for next day service are 24-48 hours from collection at our depot. By using our home delivery service, you accept the terms of the delivery schedule.

Most of our home deliveries arrive within 24 hours from shipping, there are occasions when deliveries are delayed by the couriers. Refusal of a delivery if delayed under 48 hours from shipping  is not accepted & is non refundable unless the couriers have damaged the integrity of the box & compromised the internal insulation.

The reason for not guaranteeing next day service is because there could be issues with internal delays with the couriers, poor weather conditions, vehicle breakdowns, traffic delays or problems of this nature.


Some orders are delayed by 12 – 24 hours due to unforeseen circumstances with the Third Party Courier services we use. The packaging is designed to keep meats cold for up to 3 days in normal temperatures. Your meat delivery should arrive in 24 hours, but can be up to 48 hours.  

Some of the smaller items may arrive soft but are fine to place into the freezer or fridge. We are unable to prevent this with current packaging, (we are not using all polystyrene boxes as these are not eco friendly). It is the responsibility of the customer to take the parcel in, & place all contents under refrigeration as soon as the parcel is opened.

Once an order has been placed & paid for orders are picked & packed very quickly after the sale is completed so that there is no delay in dispatch, including orders placed weeks in advance of delivery. Should you wish to cancel an order, admin & the payment fee charges will be deducted at point of refund.

The cut off time for next day delivery is 2pm Monday – Thursday.

Thank you for purchasing our products & we hope that you your family really enjoy cooking with them. Some items may defrost during the last hours of transit, but will arrive only 2-3°c above freezing. Please be assured that all products are delivered in excellent condition to your door, & are fully edible.

We have all products produced fresh at source for us & all products are delivered within 24 – 48 hours to our temperature controlled shipping facility in the UK. All products received are then frozen immediately to a temperature of -18°c, this then ensures that all the products are kept in perfect condition for up to 24 months if ever required.

Some of the items produced are frozen at source & will have different date labelling to show a use by date frozen, whereas the fresh shipped items to us are showing a fresh use by date. When looking at the use by dates, please allow a further 24 months when kept under -18°c.

Thank you for placing an Online Click & Collect Meat order with Sherwood Foods (United Kingdom).

It is the responsibility of the customer to collect their meats & place all contents under refrigeration as soon as possible.

We allow customers to cancel their orders if you no longer require the meats. We do charge for the payment fees we incur & an admin / handling fee: of £10.00p. This is deducted at point of refund

Damaged goods: all orders must be checked at point of collection & any issues raised before leaving the collection point. We are not responsible for any damages or packaging issues once an order has left our premises. We do not accept returns as the meats have not been under our refrigeration / handling.

COVID-19

We are using a guaranteed delivery service through our approved couriers & our parcels have a 99% success rate for delivery at this time.

However, due to the high volumes with couriers at this time, the occasional order has had a minor delay. With this in mind, we are placing extra gel packs & extra cardboard insulation inside the boxes.

Once an order has been placed & paid for it cannot be changed or cancelled, orders are picked & packed very quickly after the sale is completed so that there is no delay in dispatch.
