History of Sherwood Foods:

Sherwood Foods, founded in 2008 by a Third generation butcher, who trained and qualified in his early years working with a wide spectrum of meats, in the retail sector working in different butchers shops across London. In the late 80’s he took a position on London’s Smithfield Meat Market as a trainee salesman, in the footsteps of his father & grandfather. Over his initial training period he was selling fresh carcass beef from Ireland, then fresh UK lamb, frozen New Zealand lamb & vacuum packed beef from South America.

Drawing from his client base that had been built up over the years, & from working with multi species of meats through working on Smithfield Market, a move away  and working closer with larger fully BRC approved factories supplying wholesale meat cuts to our outside premises in London was the only logical choice.

Present business of Sherwood Foods:

Sherwood Foods is continuing to build on our existing relationships, working closely with the production & packing teams to allowing us to produce The Sherwood Brand of our specialist meat cuts. We are supplying more takeaway & delivery focused restaurants at the current time due to the pandemic, as they enjoy the service of same day / next day delivery of our quality meats. We also supply small chain supermarkets with our retail packs as a ready made solution for them to fill their shelves easily & quickly with a recognised brand. We are also now expanding our range of online meat cuts for our popular online meat service.

The future of Sherwood Foods:

We are constantly developing our brand, so that we may offer more products to our clients in the future. We are now working with new stockists outside the home market in Holland and the Caribbean to take our brand further to bring quality and choice abroad. We are looking to increase our current  “Local delivery service” in Holland, Belgium, & the West Side of Germany for restaurants, private competition BBQ teams.

The Online Meat Shop in the UK have an increased meat menu & the online deliveries into Europe will resume & grow after the current situation with paperwork has been resolved between the UK & EU
