Our expert butchers have selected bellies of pork with an excellent meat to fat ratio with the right fat covering to make the delicious belly meat soft & tender. This has been made as ready to cook piece of pork with only fine trimming needed for personal preference or scoring of the skin to make delicious crackling.
The meat from the belly of pork will become very soft & tender when cooked slowly because it has a semi coarse texture. Scoring the crackling will allow the rub or seasoning to penetrate the meat & enhance the flavour. As the meat will be moist because of the fat it will be easily chewed & digested. The flavour of the pork belly will be very consistent as the welfare of the pigs is very high, giving a light pink colour that is characteristic of our high-quality pork.

They say fat is flavour, but too much is obviously not good for you, so removing the excess fat after your cooking will let you enjoy great meat without the health deficiencies of eating it.
The process from farm to fork is designed to maximise value for money & minimise waste, with welfare & the environment top of the list. All our production facilities are BRC Approved & we are always using local herds.
The pork belly & all our meats are produced under very strict conditions because we want all our customers to get the best products possible. We only make our products in BRC Approved facilities with temperature-controlled clean cutting rooms as this gives a fresher product with a longer shelf life. The lower temperatures ensure the meat retains more of its natural moisture & the natural bacteria found in meat is kept to a minimal.
The pork belly is cut & packed within a few minutes making sure that we conserve every ounce of flavour. They are vacuum-sealed into clear recyclable pouches that suck all the natural juices into the meat before being frozen & locking in all the flavour. The clear pouches will protect the meat from the moment it is packed to the time you open before seasoning.
When bringing meat up to room temperature before cooking, the pouches will prevent it from drying out or from any other foreign flying visitors!
