Sherwood Meaty Baby Back Ribs are the benchmark rib outside of America. We make sure that you get a very generous amount of meat on them so you get the best value for money! These are carefully hand cut from our finest Pie Train pork that has a delicious flavour, perfect when smoked. The beautiful thick meat on them is very succulent & is vacuum sealed for that just cut flavour when delivered to your door.

Producing our Back Ribs from the Pietrain Pig gives these great texture & just enough fat adding to the flavour of the meat. 

Sherwood Meaty Baby Back Ribs have two sizes: 700-850-grams & 1100-1450-grams. Availability depends on the size of pigs coming in from the farms when producing the next juicy batch.

Meaty Baby Back Ribs :

The meat content of our Meaty Ribs makes them very good value for money as you get much higher meat to bone ratio. Our expert butchers parallel cut the bones to give an even rack of ribs around 6 cm wide that makes for better sharing portions. The bones are covered with succulent loin meat evenly from top to bottom letting you get good absorption of smoke & seasoning into the meat.

Each rack has 10 ribs that are trimmed to leave them ready for you to remove the membrane before seasoning. Baby Back Ribs recipe

The thin membrane on the rib side of the Meaty Baby Back Ribs needs to be removed before cooking, this is a quick simple procedure using the handle of a teaspoon. To remove the membrane, simply push the handle gently under the membrane 3 ribs down the rack to allow you to prise up the membrane so you can get a firm grip on it to pull in one movement from the rack. We vacuum Sherwood Meaty Baby Back Ribs twin pack straight from our production line to preserve the natural flavour & moisture. The clear recyclable packaging is helping to reduce our carbon footprint with our customers recycling responsibly at home. The packaging protects the meat during transit to your door & when you have these in storage at home. To bring the ribs up to room temperature before seasoning, the bag prevents them from losing moisture to keep them in perfect condition.

There are many breeds of pigs in the world, each with different characteristics, some large fatty ones, to small very lean types. The Pietrain Pig is a low cholesterol breed that has fantastic meat to fat ratio. Having access to a large volume of a good grade, perfect sized pork sides to choose from on a daily basis enables us to create the consistent “Restaurant Quality” pork cuts that people have come to expect from the Sherwood brand.

Our daily supply of pigs is from local countryside farms in Belgium & Northern France. The name of the pigs originates from the village of “Pietrain” in the Wallonia region of Belgium.

Sherwood Meaty Baby Back Ribs have won first place in competitions across Europe & have been tried ‘n tested by some of the top BBQ guys from America. The results from their cooks were stunning & delicious. We have made these available online to give everyone a chance to create delicious ribs at home for friends & family.
